This course provides theoretical and clinical knowledge in podiatric surgery beyond the BPodM degree.

Topics include biostatistics, research methodology, practical aspects of elective foot surgery and/or management of the high risk foot, and patient-oriented research, including ethics and communication of research, resulting in a dissertation. It is anticipated graduates will be registered with the Podiatrists Registration Board of WA as a podiatric surgeon or a podiatric physician.

Course outline

The course consists of 17 units to a total value of 144 points:

(a) All Core units—138 points

Group B

Group C

and

(b) one unit from the following list of Options—6 points

1 full-time; 2 part-time

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master of requires the following:

  • Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine from this University or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
  • a minimum of one year's relevant work experience.

English Language Competence

All UWA doctorate programs have a necessary minimum level of competence in English.
